 December 7, 2018

Tis’ The Season

It’s that time of year when gifts tend to get exchanged. It’s a fun and festive time of year. It can also be frustrating especially when your time is short and you just figure out a perfect gift idea.

Below, I’ve compiled some of my favorite tools and gadgets for anyone living a low-carb life. If you have a friend or loved one interested in making diet and lifestyle changes one of the items listed below might be just the thing to get them moving ; )

Often the links I add for a product/item are affiliate marketing links. If you choose to follow one of my links, I will earn a small commission at no additional cost to you. Please don’t feel pressure to buy through my links, they are there for your convenience. If they help point you to a product that you prefer to buy from a favorite retailer that also works : ) If you do click through, thank you, I truly appreciate your support. Items below marked with an * are affiliate links.

Instant Pot Programmable Electric Pressure Cooker*

Low Carb, Keto, InstantPot, The Simplicity of Wellness, Amy White Nutritionist

This is by far one of my favorite kitchen accessories. This 6-Quart, 7-in-1 electric pressure cooker is the answer to a busy life.

If you’re eating low-carb or keto and want to make sure you always have healthy, real food options available this pressure cooker is the answer. Beef stew in 20 mins., Perfect Spaghetti Squash in 5 mins., Homemade Egg Bites – better than Starbucks. The list goes on.

The 6-quart is perfect for a family of four but if you’re big eaters or really like leftovers I’d jump up to the 8-quart. I actually have both and often use them at the same time. Meatballs in the 6-quart and spaghetti squash in the 8-quart. Dinner in 15 minutes!

Egg Bite Mold*

LowCarb Egg Bites, Keto Egg Bites, Egg Bite Mold for Instant Pot

Speaking of egg bites, if you are getting the Instant Pot or you already have one you’re going to want this mold so you can make homemade egg bites.

Scramble those eggs, add your favorite fixins’ and then pop it all in this mold and cook in your instant pot for super fast, low-carb, delicious egg bites.

Egg bites keep well in the fridge and are super easy to heat up. They make a hearty, quick and delicious meal that you can take on the go.

Egg Cooker*

Egg Cooker, LowCarb Gadget, Keto Egg Cooker, Lowcarb toolsMaybe you don’t have an instant pot or you don’t want one but you do love eggs. This cute egg cooker from Cuisinart has turned out to be one of my favorite kitchen gadgets. This was a gift from a friend. I have to admit, I did wonder if I would ever use it. Boiling eggs is pretty easy. Well, NOT as easy as the egg cooker! Also, if you like poached eggs – presto, perfect poached eggs every time. Having hardboiled eggs in the fridge is a must when living low-carb/keto. This little cooker makes it easy to always have perfect hardboiled eggs at the ready.

You can find the Egg Cooker here.

Spiralizer*

Spiralizer Low Carb Gift IdeaThis is truly the perfect gift for any low-carber. The first thing that has to go on a low-carb diet is white flour and all things made with white flour. That includes noodles. This sprializer makes eating fun! No need for traditional noodles. Zoodles are a terrific alternative. This little kitchen gadget is only limited by a lack of imagination. Fun for the whole family!

Get this Spiralizer here.

Kitchen Food Scale*

Great Good Digital Kitchen Scale, Low Carb GiftA kitchen food scale is a great tool for anyone but it’s particularly useful if someone is trying to keep track of their macronutrients.

This scale by Greater Goods is special because it will display the nutrition facts for just about every food. This makes it really easy when counting carbs.

Greater Goods Nutrition Food Scale.

Keto Mojo*
Keto Mojo, Track Blood Ketones, Track Blood GlucoseAre you or someone you know interested in tracking blood sugar AND ketones? The Keto Mojo is my absolute favorite tool for both. That’s right, you can measure blood glucose levels and blood ketone levels with this single monitor.

Tracking blood sugar is an important part of monitoring your health especially if you are pre-diabetic or have been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes.

It’s also a great way to keep tabs on your low-carb or keto lifestyle.

Get the Keto Mojo here.

Urine Ketone Testing Strips*

Urine Ketone Test Strips, Keto, Ketogenic Lifestyle, Lowcarb lifestyle, low carbMaybe you or a friend is just getting started with a low-carb/keto diet and aren’t ready to dive into the Keto Mojo, no problem. You can start with urine ketone test strips, a very easy and inexpensive way to see if you’re producing ketones.

I think urine test strips are great for anyone beginning a low-carb or keto lifestyle. They really help with motivation. They give you a real time, visual representation of your body changing.

Urine test strips are easy to use, you pee on the strip and wait 15 seconds and then check the color. Each box comes with a color chart so you know what you’re looking for.

Upgrade Your Lifestyle – Gift Ideas

Blue Blocker Glasses

Swanwick Blue Light Blocking GlassesI think we’ve all heard about how bad blue light is for our health especially for our sleep. Do you own blue light blocking glasses? Do you know someone who would benefit from having a pair? Now is a great time to gift someone better health with a cool looking frame. If you don’t have a pair get yourself a set too.

These blue blockers are on my gift list for the whole family! The best part, they won’t break the bank, only $59!

Happier in Only 5-Minutes a Day

Happier Every Day, Success Journal, Be Grateful, Share JoyThis 5-min. Journal makes it easy to stay focused on the good things. With all the craziness happening all over the world and even in our own backyards it’s hard to remember and be grateful for the goodness of life.

This little hardcover journal makes it easy to check in with yourself and refocus.

Each day starts with an inspiring quote. Then you have a space to jot down “what would make today great”. At the end of the day you can think back on your day and fill in the area that asks you to “list 3 amazing things that happened today”. There’s also a place to write out your weekly challenges, things you are grateful for, affirmations and ideas about how you could have made your day even better.

If you haven’t ever journaled before this is a great way to try it out. Prompts make things easier : )

Family Game*

Vertells Card Game, Human Connection, RelationshipsVertell?s isn’t your normal game. It’s a card game that promotes meaningful conversation and human connection. Seems weird that we’ve come to a place in time where connecting on a personal, human level needs to be orchestrated. If you miss good, fun, meaningful conversation IRL this might be the game for you. It’s perfect for family gatherings or with friends. Who knows, you might even learn something new and interesting about the people you think you know the best.

Gift the game and turn small talk into genuine conversation.

My final suggestions are going to be some low-carb foods/ingredients that anyone starting or living a low-carb life would just love. I’m putting this up as an image gallery. Each image should be a clickable link. All links are affiliate links that lead back to Amazon.

I hope you find these suggestions fun and useful. Enjoy!
