The third installment of the video series, The Skinny on Obesity is here. Hunger and Hormones – A vicious cycle.
Big take aways:
- Biochemical reasons why you can’t eat less and then exercise more
- Hormone Leptin, limits what you eat by going from fat cell to brain to indicate that you have had what you NEED which gives you just the right amount of energy for exercise (movement).
- Obesity creates high levels of Leptin, because it comes from fat cells.
- If leptin is doing its job you shouldn’t be obese.
- Obesity = LEPTIN Resistance.
- Insulin causes the problem
- Insulin reduces blood sugar by moving sugar to fat storage – (that’s what it’s supposed to do)
- Insulin drives weight gain.
- Insulin blocks leptin at the brain so you continue to feel hungry = eat more.
- The higher the insulin, the more energy you store as fat and the hungrier you get.

This series is great. I can hardly wait for the next installment.
